Berkeley, Calif.: The No. 9 Pacific Tigers fell in their first game at the NorCal Open, losing to No. 6 UC Irvine by the score of 8-5. Pacific mounted a fourth quarter comeback, scoring three goals, but it was not enough as Irvine scored two of their own. With the loss, the Tigers run their record to 7-7 on the season, while the Anteaters improve to 8-6.
Senior Adam Zobler (Sutton, Mass.) led the Tigers with two goals, while freshman Mike Lennon (Pacific Palisades, Calif.), junior Matt Turnbull (Act, Australia) and junior Kenny Yamamoto (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) each added a goal apiece. Senior Marko Popovic (Belgrade, Serbia) had six saves in goal in the match.
The Tigers will play No. 18 Santa Clara at 1:30pm to end the day, before playing two more games tomorrow
