Provo, Utah - The Pacific women's tennis team dropped a 5-1 decision at No. 71 Brigham Young on Friday, March 21. The Tigers dropped to 6-7 overall, 0-2 in West Coast Conference play, while the Cougars improved to 6-6, 2-0 in WCC action.
"The Cougars were a better team today," said Head Coach Charlotte Scatliffe. "We expected them to be tough and came out with good energy for doubles to match their intensity. Unfortunately we weren't able to step it up at No. 2 and No. 3 and lost the doubles point. Against a good team like BYU it's difficult to head into singles a bit deflated and we need to get better at putting the doubles point behind us and just focusing on singles. We will be getting a good night's rest before heading to Nevada tomorrow morning in effort of evening out our won loss record again."
Hana Ritterova was the only Tiger to pick up a win, with a victory at No 2 singles.
Pacific is next in action with a road match at Nevada on Sunday, March 23, then with a home match against Eastern Washington on Tuesday, March 25.
