Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific Women's Tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision on Friday, Feb. 13 to Fresno State at the Hal Nelson Tennis Center. The Tigers fell to 3-2 on the season, while Fresno State improved to 5-2.

The Tigers dropped the doubles point 2-1, with Cristina Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz and Antonella Santeusanio getting a win at No. 3 doubles. In singles competition, Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz and Gergana Boncheva picked up singles wins.

"We played a very tough Fresno State team today," said Head Coach Charlotte Scatliffe. "They were all very solid and complete players with a lot of fight so credit to them. I thought our ladies did an excellent job of displaying just as much fight and heart in every spot today and think we even had more energy and team spirit. I'm very pleased with the way Cristina is playing at the moment, coming up with a win in doubles to stay undefeated with Antonella as well as being the last one on in singles playing some big tennis to get the win. As a whole I'm very pleased with our efforts today and am really excited for our next match against Nevada at home on Sunday."

The Tigers return to action with a home match against Nevada at the Hal Nelson Courts on Sunday Feb. 15 at 12:00 p.m.
