Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific Women's Tennis team was defeated by San Jose State 4-3 on Saturday, March 14 at the Hal Nelson Tennis Courts. The Tigers dropped to 7-5 overall, while the Spartans improved to 8-5.

The Tigers took the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3. The Tigers had singles wins from Iveta Masarova and Hana Ritterova, but the Spartans took the match with a come from behind 5-7, 6-1, 7-5 victory by Julianna Bacelar over Francis Dean at No. 4 to take the match.

"It was a tough loss today to a very solid San Jose state team," said Head Coach Charlotte Scatliffe. "I'm very proud of our girls for the effort and fight they put out today. We had good energy and I believe we really wanted it, unfortunately we fell a few points short. This was great practice before we get into conference only matches."

The Tigers return to action with a West Coast Conference match at Saint Mary's on Saturday, March 21 at 11:00 a.m.
