San Luis Obispo, Calif. - The Pacific women's tennis team rolled over Cal Poly Sunday with a 4-0 sweep on the road as six Tigers were part of victories in singles or doubles.

The Tigers took the doubles point as junior Cristina Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz and freshman Yuki Asami won the second doubles match, 6-4, over Bryn Bacharach and Ilana Oleynik, while freshmen Mayaan Sela and Sabrina Rodriguez cruised 6-2 over Abigail Bacharach and Emily Gibbens at third doubles. Viktoriya Dzyuba and Anneroos Nederstigt went unfinished versus Dane Joubert and Zoe Oedekerk at first doubles as the Tigers had clinched.

In singles, Dzyuba was a straight set winner over Gibbens at first singles, 6-2, 6-2, while Katie Dyson dispatched Bryn Bacharach, 6-0, 6-2, at fourth singles. Sela clinched the 4-0 win with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Oleynik at second singles.

Those results rendered third, fifth and sixth singles moot with Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz tied in the second set with Oedekerk, Rodriguez tied 5-5 with Joubert, and Nederstigt battling Abigail Bacharach.

"The ladies came out today and took care of business," head coach Charlotte Scatliffe said. "It was a solid showing throughout and the energy was fantastic. I saw improvements individually on specific things we've been working on and believe everyone got better today. As always there is still a lot of things for us to improve on individually and also as a team. I know the team will continue to put in the work and we will be back at it in preparation for a tough San Jose state team."

The Tigers improve to 4-4 on the season while Cal Poly falls to 2-5.

Pacific is back in action next Sunday at San Jose State at noon.
