Pepperdine Explosive Offense Downs Tigers

MALIBU, CA – The Pepperdine Waves defeated Pacific 3-0 thanks to a strong second half performance from the Waves offense.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The two teams were deadlocked in the first half, with the defensive effort for both teams shining through as the Waves, one of the top offenses in the WCC only had two shots on goal. The two teams headed into the half scoreless and with the Tigers defense shutting down the Waves offense.

The Waves came to life in the second half, scoring three goals in second half as Pepperdine's speed on attack was too much for the Tigers back line. The Tigers continued to attack, with two shots on goal in the second half and chances to score up until the final whistle.

TIGER LEADERS:

Ryanne Molenaar had two shots for the Tigers, Laila Saravia, Jaida Nyby, Haleigh Wynn, and Alex Machado all had one shot.

Goalkeeper Brenna Crump had four saves in goal.

FROM THE COACHES:

"Tough result after putting an almost flawless first half together. Unfortunately, the game is 90 minutes, and we have to put a full 90 together. Credit to Pepperdine for making some adjustments at the half. Overall pleased with our efforts and how we competed. Looking forward to closing out the season and recognizing our seniors Saturday versus Portland. Another opportunity for us to take forward strides in this program." – Co-Head Coaches Danesha Adams and J.J. Wozniak

UP NEXT:

The Tigers finish their season on Saturday at home against Portland. The seven seniors on the Tigers will be honored before the game. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
