SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The University of the Pacific women's soccer team extend its winning streak to five with a 4-0 shutout win over host Sacramento State on Friday afternoon.
The win raises the Tigers' record to 7-1-1 on the season – the seven wins are the most for a Pacific squad since 2011, which ended the season with a 8-9-1 mark. The current five-game winning streak is the longest in program history since 2006. The loss drops the Hornets to 1-5-1 on the season.
"Fantastic result for our ladies as we start to round out non-conference play. We started the game very well and just missed out on opportunities to take advantage of all of the possession we had in the first half.  In the second half we came out with a very aggressive mentality to get forward. Credit to Sacramento State for their defensive efforts. We never took our foot off the gas and were able to put away our chances late in the game, which will help us as we move into conference. Credit to our defensive unit for another shutout." – Co-Interim Head Coaches
Danesha Adams and
J.J. Wozniak
After leading by a 1-0 margin at half, the Tigers came back with three second half goals en route to the victory.Â
