Tigers Shine Against the Spiders

Box Score Richmond, Va.- The Pacific women's tennis team (4-2) opened their East Coast road trip with a 5-2 victory over Richmond (4-10). 

Pacific took the first two courts of doubles, earning the doubles point for the Tigers. On court #1, senior Klara Kosan and sophomore Karina Chao defeated Richmond 6-3. On court #2, sophomores Tomi Main and Alexis Sam continued to be an excellent doubles pairing, securing the doubles point for Pacific 6-4. 

The Tigers did not slow down once they hit singles play. On court #3, Chao dominated her opponent 6-1, 6-4. On court #6, Sam edged her way to the singles point with a 7-6, 6-1 victory. Main and Kosan also picked up singles points on their respective courts. 

"Great way to start our East Coast road trip," said Head Coach Mike Erwin. "We played in tricky conditions with 20MPH winds, with gusts over 40. Every court in singles and doubles had the right intensity and fight to get this team win."

Pacific continues their road trip tomorrow, Wednesday, March 15, against William & Mary, with the first serve at 11 a.m. PT/2 p.m. ET.
