Stockton, Calif.—Pacific women's soccer (6-2-1) extended its win streak with a 3-0 shutout over Fresno State (1-4-3) on Thursday. It marks the first shutout of the season for the Tigers.
Three different players scored in the victory, which all came in the first half. Sophomore Alexis Pashales passed the ball to fifth year Lauren Frohan who scored from the left side in the 15th minute.
Six minutes later, sophomore Alexis Pashales took a straight shot from the top of the box into the net off the assist from sophomore Haley Johnson in the 21st minute.
Fifth year Jaida Nyby picked up her first assist of the season as she found sophomore Anaya Shelton who ran the ball past Bulldogs goalkeeper Valentina Vivas for the finish in the 37th minute.
Freshman goalkeeper Libby Davy earned her first career shutout while collecting four saves.
"Our players are no different," said co-head coach J.J. Wozniak. "They were just ready to go from the opening whistle. They set some team goals and one of them is to have a good start to the match. When we got the opportunity to score and be dangerous, we took advantage and finished."
Up next, Pacific travels to San Luis Obispo to face Cal Poly at noon on Sunday.
