Men’s Golf Receives Votes in Golfweek Poll

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's golf team received two votes as part of the latest Bushnell/Golfweek DI Coaches Poll, announced Friday.

The Tigers wrapped up last week with a runner-up finish at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational, hosted by Cal at the Meadow Club on Tuesday. Three weeks ago, Pacific won its first tournament since 2014, crowed champion of The Goat, hosted by Navy.

"The team's performance has been exciting so far this season and to be receiving votes in the coaches poll is a testament to the hard work these guys have been putting in," head coach John Cook said.

The main five Tigers leading the way in the lineup have been sophomore Carlos Astiazaran, junior Deitrek Gill, junior Travis Robbie, junior Timothy Jung and sophomore Justin Bai.

Multiple Tigers have finished in the top ten of the individual leaderboards in Pacific's first three tournaments of the season. Most recently, Robbie, Jung and Astiazaran finished in the top ten of the individual leaderboards of the Alister MacKenzie Invitational.

Pacific looks ahead to hosting the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational this upcoming week, set at the Stockton Golf & Country Club on Monday through Wednesday. There is free admission for all guests.
