Tigers Head North for WCC Road Match at Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Pacific women's soccer program prepares for its first West Coast Conference road match of the season, taking on Portland at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Harry A. Merlo Field.

The Tigers (2-9-1, 0-2 WCC) fly up north for the first of five road conference games, beginning with the Pilots (6-3-4).

"It's been a good week of training," co-head coach Danesha Adams said. "This will be a tough road game, as the Pilots are pretty good at home. They always have a pretty good atmosphere, but we are looking forward to it as its another opportunity to get to compete and win!"

Freshman Sierah McCallum leads the Tigers with four goals on nine shots on goal. McCallum is among the top ten in goals leaders in the WCC.

Alexis Pashales has been a force on offense, notching three goals on a team-high 17 shot attempts. Pashales has spent the most time on the pitch among the Tigers' roster with 946 minutes accumulated.

Freshman Sierra Schwarz has started in goal the last six contests with 51 saves to her name. Schwarz's 51 saves stand third among qualifiers in the conference leaderboards while her 5.67 saves per game rank first in the WCC.

Portland opened up conference play with a win at home against Saint Mary's. Recently, the Pilots competed on the road, earning a scoreless draw at San Francisco and falling 3-0 at No. 10 Santa Clara. Hailey Still leads Portland with seven goals on 14 shots on goal.

Pacific and Portland meet for the 16th time in the series history that dates back to 1996. The Tigers dropped a 3-1 decision in Portland during the 2022 season. In that contest, junior Allie Jones scored her first collegiate goal.

The match will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with a kick-off set for 7 pm.
