Pacific Ends Bronco Invitational with Win Against Cal State Monterey Bay

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Pacific women's polo concluded the Bronco Invitational with a 17-6 victory over Cal State Monterey Bay on Sunday at Sullivan Aquatic Center.

"It was a good end to the weekend for us," head coach Candice Vorbeck said. "We were able to get a lot of people through in that game. A lot of people that maybe didn't get as much this weekend got minutes. We had a lot of people standing out who had really good opportunities to play. Good preparation for conference in a week."

Pacific (8-3) was led in points by junior Addison McGowan who registered a career-high five points while notching two goals and matching her career-high three assists. Graduate student Hailey Williams led the Tigers in goals with three.

Junior Hila Futorian and senior Mia Garcia both had four points on two goals and two assists. Garcia tabbed career highs in both points and assists while matching her career high in goals. Junior Ilyana Zlobinsky posted a career-high four points on one goal and a career-high three assists.

Freshman goalkeeper Maja Lizy Dulic grabbed three saves.

Pacific jumped out to an 8-2 advantage in the first half and added nine more goals in the second to seal the victory. The Tigers held the Otters to just one goal in each of the first three periods.

Pacific outshot CSUMB (2-9) 41-18 and had a .415 shooting percentage throughout the contest.

"Our performance was pretty good," McGowan said. "There's a lot of things we need to learn and adjust from but overall, a win is a win. We worked hard and we got the job done. We're ready for the next few games coming up."

Up next, the Tigers have a week off before starting Golden Coast Conference play at Azusa Pacific at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 29.
