DAVIS, Calif.- The Pacific beach volleyball team traveled up to UC Davis for its first matches of the season. The Tigers came away with a point against the Utes, but fell to Utah 4-1 before falling to UC Davis 5-0.

Sophomore Josephine Kinlan and junior Ashley Davies put the Tigers on the board after defeating Utah's Bella Vezzani and Rylie Johnson 21-17, 21-12 and 15-10. Senior Camdyn Albrecht was paired with sophomore Kelea Saxton Vaka, who made her season debut with Pacific. The pair took the second match 21-15 after falling 21-13, but the Utes got the edge 15-13 to break the split.

Freshman Mia Rossman paired up with senior Juliana Alexander, but the two eventually fell 21-16, 21-9. Graduate student Jadyn Tubbs made her return playing alongside senior Miranda Baptista. The pair battled Utah's Kylie Pitzak and Marissa Koch, but fell 21-16, 21-9. Albrecht returned alongside freshman Alessia Brown, but despite keeping a competitive second game the two fell 21-8, 21-17.

The Tigers took on host UC Davis shortly after, but were soon stifled by the Aggies. Saxton Vaka and Albrecht stayed close to Davis' Colleen McGuire and Kylie Miller but the pair fell 21-18, 21-14. Kinlan joined Brown and the two stayed competitive against the Aggies' Sydney Rau-Kim and Alicia Letvin, but fell 21-18, 21-15.

Pacific returns tomorrow in two more matches in Davis. The Tigers revisit the Utes to start the day at 11:30 a.m. before finishing with a rematch against UC Davis at 1:30 p.m.
