DAVIS, Calif.- The Pacific beach volleyball team played its second set of matches in its season opening weekend, revisiting both Utah and host UC Davis. Though they remained competitive in Davis, the Aggies and the Utes each came away with 4-0 victories over the Tigers.
 
The Tigers (0-4) opened the day in a battle with the Utes (2-2). Senior Camdyn Albrecht and sophomore Kelea Saxton Vaka stook close to Utah's Katie McCallister and Langley Griffin in the first set but fell 21-19, 21-10 at the one. Sophomore Josephine Kinlan and junior Ashley Davies, after getting a win from the two a day ago, couldn't get the edge over Bella Vezzani and Rylee Johnson, falling 21-12, 21-18.
 
In the second match of the day, Pacific held a rematch with UC Davis (4-0). Freshman Mia Rossman and senior Juliana Alexander battled Morgan Coolbaugh and Sam Lazenby, but fell 21-12, 21-13 at the three. From the four, senior Miranda Baptista and graduate student Jadyn Tubbs kept close to Mia Olen and Tabitha Mitchell, but the Aggies put them away 21-16, 21-12.
 
Pacific returns next weekend for the Big West/WCC Challenge in Santa Cruz, Calif. The event is held all day Saturday and features contests with Portland, CSU Bakersfield and Sacramento State.
