SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Pacific track & field competed at the Hornet Invitational hosted by Sacramento State this weekend at Hornet Stadium.
Junior
Ella Leroy had another outstanding performance in the shot put as she earned 20
th place with an 11.79m throw.
Meanwhile, senior
Sophie Pazzo placed 35
th in the 3000m on a time of 10:45.54. Senior
Anahi Avila Perez (11:15.55) and freshman
Valeria Espinoza (11:39.44) completed the top 60 as they finished in 48
th and 53
rd, respectively.
Sophomore
Emily Wernli and junior
Sophia Livingston earned first and second (50
th and 53
rd overall) in their section of the 1500m. Wernli set a personal best time of 4:55.68 while Livingston had 4:57.15. Junior
Dalee Higgins (66
th, 5:04.08) and sophomore
Briteny Goriye (93
rd, 5:44.83) also notched PRs in the event.
Freshman
Gianna Solano registered a personal best in the 800m, winning her section and finishing 32
nd overall at 2:25.85.
Pacific rounded out the event in the 4x400m. The team of Higgins, Livingston, Solano and Wernli ran a time of 4:20.65 to finish in 19
th.
Up next, Pacific heads to Chabot College for the Mike Fanelli Track Classic on Mar. 29 and 30.
