STANFORD, Calif.- The Pacific beach volleyball team took on more stout competition while out on the road, facing two nationally ranked opponents in Stanford, before falling to No. 17 Arizona and No. 3 Stanford 5-0.
The Tigers opened the day against No. 17 Arizona, meeting the Wildcats for the first time in program history. Senior

Kelea Saxton Vaka kept the Wildcats in a close contest in their opening set, tying it 23-23. Arizona took the win 26-24, 21-15 to clinch the match 5-0.
Against Stanford, senior
Juliana Alexander and partner
Mia Rossman went up 9-8 in their opening set at threes. The duo kept toe to toe with Phoenix Clarke and Camdyn Doucet keeping within one or a tie through 12 before the Cardinal pulled away. They rebounded with a hot start in the second set, jumping out to a 3-2 lead, but Clarke and Doucet took the match 21-13, 21-12. The Cardinal actively defended their home court, shutting out the Tigers 5-0.
Pacific returns home next week for a doubleheader against Washington on Wednesday, April 17 before closing out its season hosting a two day tournament at the Raney Sand Volleyball Courts on Friday, April 19 through Saturday, April 20.
