Pacific Sees Impressive Performances in Three-Meet Weekend

STOCKTON, Calif. – Pacific women's track and field saw big individual performances during the three-meet weekend.
 
Senior Sophie Pazzo represented Pacific in the 5k at the Leopard Distance Carnival hosted by La Verne. The Claremore, Okla. native registered a personal best time of 18:22.44 to earn sixth in section and 55th overall.
 
Three Tigers competed at the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific. Sophomore Emily Wernli and junior Ella Leroy posted top three finishes in their respective events. Wernli competed in the 1500m, winning her section on a personal best time of 4:46.81. Leroy earned third in section and 35th overall in the javelin on 35.12m.
 
Junior Sophia Livingston earned 11th in section on a time of 4:56.69 in the 1500m.
 
Pacific placed seventh overall out of 12 teams (33 points) at the Chuck Buettner Twilight hosted by Chabot College. Four Tigers earned personal bests while one registered top three finishes in both their events.  
 
Sophomore Serena Yee posted 1.40m to win the high jump. The Lodi, Calif. native also finished third in the triple jump with 9.56m.
 
Senior Anahi Avila Perez set a PR time of 42:13.07 in the 10,000m.
 
Freshman Nadia Garcia Martinez earned two personal bests while finishing in the top 10 in the shot put (fifth, 9.49m) and discus throw (eighth, 19.11m).
 
Freshman Gianna Solano earned a PR in the 400m with a time of 1:03.04. Freshman Valeria Espinoza set a personal record time of 5:27.85 to finish second in section and 29th overall in the 1500m.
 
Up next, Pacific wraps up the 2024 season at the Fresno State Invitational on Apr. 26 and 27.
