Tigers Thwarted in WCC Semifinal

SAN DIEGO, Calif.- The Pacific men's tennis team's run at the WCC Tournament ended at the hands of Pepperdine, as the No. 46 Tigers fell to the Waves 4-0 in the semifinal.

The Waves grabbed hold of the momentum early, taking the doubles point with wins on courts three and two. They pushed the Tigers further behind six opening first set victories in singles. Five went to tiebreakers that all went in Pepperdine's favor.

Senior Peter Alam grabbed a set off Pepperdine's Edward Winter from court one but his match went unfinished after the Waves locked up courts three, four and five for the win.

The Tigers tie for third in the tournament, while tying their highest finish in the championship event since 2015. They exit with a 17-5 record, the most wins by a Tiger team in nearly two decades and the most wins by a team since returning to the WCC in 2013. The phenomenal season was highlighted by a 14 match winning streak and returning to top-50 in the national rankings for the first time in almost a decade.
