STOCKTON, Calif. – Freshman
Gabe Camacho blasted a pair of home runs to highlight the opening game of the series for the Pacific baseball program against Gonzaga on Friday despite an 11-7 outcome in favor of the Bulldogs at Klein Family Field.

To go along with his two homers, Camacho registered three RBIs and three runs scored. He hit a two-run dinger to right in the first inning to put the Tigers (8-37, 3-13 WCC) ahead 2-1, and blasted a solo shot to right in the sixth to cut the deficit to 8-6.

Camacho, who has now hit a team-high eight homers on the year, was one of seven Tigers to record a hit against the Bulldogs (18-24, 13-6 WCC). Sophomore

Jake Tandy all tallied doubles, while sophomores
Rylan Evans,
Kaden Petersen and
Tony Otis all recorded singles.

On the mound, junior
Ethan Shaver last 5.0 innings and struck out a pair, while junior
Owen McWilliam and sophomore
Ryan Martinez entered in relief. Martinez threw 3.0 innings including a pair of scoreless frames.

The Tigers led twice in the game early with a 2-1 lead after the first and a 3-2 edge after the second. Though, the Bulldogs scored three runs in each of the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to leap ahead ahead 11-6.

Pacific scored its final run of the game in the seventh on an RBI hit by Evans to score Shank.

Vincent Temesvary led Gonzaga with a 4-for-5 day at the plate with two RBIs and a run scored. Treyson Peters picked up the win on the mound.

The Tigers and the Bulldogs will square off again Saturday at 5 p.m. in the second of a three-game series. The weekend will close with a 1 p.m. game Sunday. All games will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
