STOCKTON, Calif.- A season of travel highlights a jam-packed 2024-25 for the Pacific women's basketball team as the Tigers officially unveil their schedule ahead of the upcoming season.
From cross country road trips to marquee conference travel up-and-down the West Coast, the Tigers spend 16 games on the road, a 180-flip from last season's 17 home-game slate. Traversing five different states in the non-conference, the Tigers will make their name in the big city this year, with stops in Seattle, New York City and New Orleans. Nine teams in total from this year's slate made postseason appearances along with Pacific, including conference newcomers Oregon State and Washington State.
"This season's schedule is full of talented teams, many of which are fresh off solid postseason performances last spring," head coach
Bradley Davis shared. "Due to our travel schedule, we are going to have to have an an-place-any-time mentality when it comes to our preseason slate. Facing six post-season teams from last year during the preseason, I'm confident we have a schedule that will prepare us for what promises to be a tough WCC again full of parity."
Despite the amount of travel in store, the team kick starts its season at home. The Tigers host Stanislaus State at the Alex G. Spanos Center on November 4, highlighting the morning contest with Education Day, celebrating grades 3rd through 7th students across San Joaquin County.
Pacific makes its return to Seattle for its first road contest, facing Washington, before returning for a weekend homestand against Long Beach and fellow 2024 WNIT competitor Northern Arizona.
The Tigers embark on their first two-week road stretch, logging in miles to New York, Connecticut and Louisiana in late November. The Tigers start off with two Ivy League contests, going head-to-head against 2024 NCAA tournament bound Columbia and Yale.
Journeying to the Bayou the week after, the Tigers make an appearance in the New Orleans Big Easy Classic, drawing 2024 WBIT competitor Lamar and Houston between November 29-30 for their lone in-season tournament. The nonconference wraps against California, another WBIT participant, and UC Santa Barbara.
Pacific's 20-game conference slate starts on December 19 for the Tigers as they head out to newcomer Oregon State, who enjoyed a trip to the Elite Eight in 2024. The Tigers wrap up their weekend in Oregon with a road battle against 2024 WCC Tournament Champion Portland, before splitting time between all ten WCC opponents through the new year.
The WCC's 2024 tournament finalists come to town for Pacific's final regular season home games. The Tigers host Gonzaga on February 27 before celebrating their Senior Day against Portland on March 1.
