OAHU, Hawaii - For the fourth consecutive year, the Pacific cross country program opened the season with a runner-up finish at the Big Wave Invitational, hosted by Hawaii at the Kahuku Golf Course.
Leading the Tigers was junior
Emily Wernli with a sixth-place showing of 20:07.30 in the 5,000m race, which marked a new personal record. Two more Tigers raced top to-15 finishes as seniors
Sophia Livingston tallied a 20:50.00 and senior
Dalee Higgins registered a 20:51.10.
Sophomore
Valeria Espinoza was the fourth Tiger to cross the finish line, taking 16th with a 20:57.10.
Graduate
Anahi Avila Perez finished with her second best time in the 5,000 meters with a 22:07.30. Senior
Elisabeth Garner also made her return to the Big Wave Invitational, capturing 21st with a 21:58.80, her second fastest time in the event.
Pacific returns in two weeks as the Tigers host the Pacific Invite on September 20.
