Elliott Hord

Elliott Hord enters his first season at University of the Pacific in 2024 as an assistant coach with the women's soccer team.

Hord brings a fountain of knowledge to Pacific, having played and coached soccer throughout his college and professional career. Most recently, Hord served as the assistant coach for the UC Davis men's soccer team from May 2023 to July 2024. He contributed to the team's success, leading them to a 9-7-4 record and conference finalists.

Hord's soccer-playing journey began at UC Davis, where he earned a B.A. in Sociology with an emphasis in Law and Society and a minor in Psychology in 2014. While at UC Davis, Hord was a standout men's soccer team player, serving as team captain from 2011 to 2013.

After completing his undergraduate studies in 2015, Hord pursued professional playing opportunities overseas and signed his first pro contract with third-division team Yxhults IF in Orebro, Sweden. Returning to the United States, Hord played professionally for Sacramento Republic F.C. in the United Soccer League Championship (USL) from 2016 to 2019, where he played over 70 professional matches.

Transitioning into coaching, Hord served as a volunteer coach for Folsom Lake College's men's soccer team in 2020. He then joined the College of the Sequoias as the head coach for the women's soccer team in 2021. In this role, he transformed the team, improving their record from 3-15 in 2021 to 10-9-1 in 2022 and qualifying for the playoffs for the first time in 15 years. His efforts earned him the Central Valley Conference Coach of the Year award in 2022.

Hord continued to expand his coaching repertoire by working as an Adjunct Kinesiology Instructor at the College of the Sequoias from 2021 to 2022, teaching personal and community health courses, soccer, weight training, and kinesiology.

In 2022, Hord joined Fresno State as a volunteer coach for the women's soccer team, focusing on pre-training activation, GPS data analysis, and maintaining non-rostered players' physical and tactical skills. He then served as a scout and head assistant coach for Central Valley Fuego in the United Soccer League 1 & 2 in 2022, organizing tryouts and recruiting professional players.

From January to May 2023, Hord coached Sacramento United Soccer Club's U14 boys' team. After Sac United, Hord was the Academy head soccer coach for Sacramento Republic F.C. from May 2023 to May 2024.

Hord's passion for coaching, teaching, and player development led him to pursue an M.A. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in coaching and physical education from Fresno Pacific, which he completed in 2020, and a M.S. in Psychology with an emphasis in sports psychology from Capella University in 2021.

With his extensive experience and dedication to player development, Hord is excited to bring his expertise to Pacific and contribute to the success of the women's soccer team.
