From start to finish that Tigers were in control at home against the Broncos as Pacific used a nearly flawless attack and an impermeable defense to cruise to their third-straight sweep. For Howard, the fourth-year middle put together her most efficient match of her career as she was dug just four times on the day while coming up with 13 kills on .765 attacking. Howards' presence in the middle opened up the pins for the Tigers' attackers as sophomore Lexi Elman and junior Kat Schulz each threw down 10 kills. Not to be outdone, senior Katy Tagart came up with eight kills while pacing Pacific's block with a career-best seven blocks alongside of sophomore Alicja Wilk's seven.
Kicking into gear early, the Tigers opening set victory was never in doubt as they put together a 7-1 run in the beginning of the frame to put the Broncos behind 11-5. During the run, Howard came up with three of her set-best five kills. In addition to the offensive attack, the Tigers' block was on point as the Pacific came up with three early blocks to set the tone. Tagart's impact was immediately felt when she rotated into the front row and roofed a pair of Bronco attacks. Overall, Pacific came up with five blocks in the set and held the Broncos to -.088 hitting in the frame.
In the second set, the Tigers were forced to work a bit harder to start the frame as the Broncos slowed down Pacific's attack momentarily before eventually breaking. Leading by one at 14-13, Pacific went on a 7-2 run to break open the contest. Again it was Howard that got Pacific's offense rolling before the pins took over to close the Broncos out.
With their third-straight sweep within reach the Tigers ran out early and never looked back to put the Broncos away for good. Saving the best for last, the Tigers offense found a new gear as Pacific hit a match-best .441 (17-2-34) behind the attack of Elman, Schulz and Tagart.
