Tigers Picked Fourth In WCC Preseason Poll

San Bruno, Calif.- The Pacific men's tennis team has been selected to finish fourth in the upcoming 2015 West Coast Conference season, as voted on by the league head coaches.

"We are very proud to be a part of such a strong and prestigious conference," said Head Coach Ryan Redondo. It's been a great season thus far in terms of learning and figuring out the team. We suffered some injuries and illness from the get go and at this point we are all very confident in our abilities within the league.  We have 8 guys that are tuned in to improve and do better than a 4th place finish. Last year we tied for fifth after being up on USD and BYU in the regular season and then finished by losing a nail biter in the semis of conference to Pepperdine. We have some lofty goals and a lot to prove. I am pumped to get conference play going."

San Diego was selected first, ahead of Pepperdine. Santa Clara was tabbed third, while three points separate Pacific (49) and Brigham Young (46), which were selected fourth and fifth, respectively. The Tigers junior Sem Verbeek land on the preseason team and will look to another successful season in the No. 1 singles flight and No. 2 doubles position for Pacific.

Meanwhile, Loyola Marymount (41), San Francisco (39), and Portland (37), along with Gonzaga (14), and Saint Mary's round out the ten-team field at slots 6-10.

The 2015 WCC Men's Tennis Championship will take place at Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif. April 22-25.
