PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland defeated Pacific in three sets of West Coast Conference (WCC) action Saturday afternoon in the Chiles Center by scores of 20-25, 19-25 and 20-25.

Portland (17-12, 10-7 WCC) was paced offensively by Hannah Troutman's 13 kills. Monica Gajda had 17 digs. Cali Thompson dished out 36 assists.

Emily Baptista record 13 kills respectively for Pacific (14-15, 8-9 WCC). Lexi Elman and Andie Shelton each poured in a double-double. Elman posted 10 kills and as many digs. Shelton had 14 digs and 17 assists. Katrin Gotterba tallied 16 digs. Jessica Diederich netted 19 assists.

The Pilots opened set one on a 10-5 run, capped by a Reghan Pukis kill. Portland's edge swelled to seven before a 5-1 Tiger spurt, which included two Elman kills and consecutive Diederich service aces, brought the score to 18-15. However, Pacific would get no closer, and a Tiger service error gave the home team a five-point win.

A Baptista kill knotted game two at nine, a set that featured four ties before its midpoint. Tied at 12, a 6-2 Pilot run ultimately separately the squads. A Janie Feldsher kill brought Pacific within three, 21-18, but a Tiger attack error ended the set.

Set three began similiar to set two, with four ties before either team reached a 10th point. Down 9-7, a 4-0 Pacific run gave the Orange and Black a brief lead following a Diederich service ace. The Tigers led 14-13 when Portland countered with a six-straight points to take control of the set. A Baptista kill closed the difference to two, 22-20, but three-straight Pilot points, helped by two Tiger attack errors, ended the match.

The Pilots hit .373 in the match, while the Tigers converted at a .250 clip.

Pacific closes the regular-season at San Francisco. First serve is set for 7 p.m. PT.
