Box Score Davis, Calif. – The Pacific women's soccer team capped off their road slate Friday night with a 2-1 loss to host UC Davis, bringing Pacific to 0-6-1 on the year. The Aggies out-shot the Tigers 20-8 in the contest, with goalie Lena Perry adding four more saves to her West Coast Conference-leading 50.
The Aggies came firing out of the gate against the Orange and Black; logging three shots in the first 14 minutes of play and ten total in the first half. Coming off an Aggie foul in the 35th minute, Hannah Terry lined up on the subsequent free kick aiming to put the Tigers on the board, but her shot sailed just wide left and we were kept scoreless heading into the intermission.
It didn't take the Tigers long in the second half to get one past Aggie goalie Alexis Smith. In the 47th minute Sigrid Aas booted a corner kick into the box that ricocheted to Loren Landrus, who was then able to volley it towards the left side of the goal to put Pacific up 1-0. Eleven minutes later, however, the Aggies answered with a goal of their own on a chip shot off the foot of Crystal Crump that floated over the charging Perry. In the 80th minute the Aggies broke the tie and took a 2-1 lead after a goal from Nicole Carson; allowing the home team to walk off victorious.
The Tigers return home next Thursday when they face UC Santa Barbara at 5 PM, which will be their last non-conference matchup. Pacific opens up WCC play on October 2nd at home against Saint Mary's. Live stats and video will be available for both these matches.
