STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific women's soccer team (5-1-8, 0-1-2) heads on the road for its first out-of-state conference contest to take on Gonzaga (7-2-3, 2-0-1) in a 7 p.m. match on Saturday, Oct. 15.
"It's definitely a big challenge to go to Gonzaga and take on the Zags on their home field," said Co-Head Coach
J.J. Wozniak.
The Tigers enter the weekend match after two straight draws in conference against Saint Mary's and BYU, while the Zags have not been defeated yet in the conference with wins over San Francisco and San Diego and a draw with #22 Pepperdine.
With that being said, our players are excited for the opportunity they have tomorrow night to do all they can to earn a big result," continued Co-Head Coach
Danesha Adams. "The players have done a great job preparing throughout the week and are ready for the match Saturday night!"
For the Tigers on the offensive side of the ball, fifth-year player
Jenae Packard and freshman
Anaya Shelton have led the way, each with three goals on the season. Packard also leads the team in assists with six. The primary Tiger fullbacks have been active on the offensive side as fifth-year player
Abigail Wolf and senior
Hana Rosenblatt both have three assists. Senior
Brenna Crump continues to be one of the best goalkeepers in the conference, leading the WCC in saves with 75, which is 20 more than the next closest goalkeeper. Crump is tied for 18th in the nation in saves and has three shutouts.
Gonzaga is unbeaten in its last seven games, outscoring opponents 20-2. The two Zag losses this season have come against ranked opponents: #21 Pitt and #22 Texas. Gonzaga leads the WCC in goals scored.
