Box Score BOISE, Idaho. – For the second week in a row, the Tigers found themselves battling back from a deficit. Working from down 1-0 after doubles to the 4-3 victory over Idaho State.
Coby McCaig and
Liam Puttergill won their doubles match, 6-3, but
Peter Alam and
Manroop Saini lost 6-4, and
Ran Amar and
Brandon Park lost 7-5.
The Tigers responded with two quick singles wins from Alam (6-2, 6-1) and Amar (6-0, 6-4) to take a 2-1 lead overall. After losses from Park (6-2, 7-6) and Puttergill (6-0, 4-6, 6-2), the Tigers faced another uphill climb.
Aleska Mardjonovic won the second two sets decisively for the (3-6, 6-4, 6-2) win. The two teams were tied heading into the final matchup between Saini and Lye with the game on the line. Saini also won the last two sets in order (4-6, 7-6, 6-2) to secure the 4-3 win for the Tigers.
This is the third win in a row for the Tigers and the second straight 4-3 victory. The team will be back in action tomorrow, taking on Montana State at 11 a.m.
