Pacific Swimming Hosts UC Santa Cruz in First Home Meet of the 2023-24 Season

STOCKTON, Calif.- The Pacific men's (0-0) and women's (0-1) swim teams host UC Santa Cruz (0-0) in their first home meet of the year on Friday, Oct. 27 at 3 p.m. at the Chris Kjeldsen Pool.

The two programs go head-to-head for the first time since the 2019-20 season, where they last raced at San Jose State. The Tigers earned both victories, sweeping the Banana Slugs 2-0. The Tiger women cruised past UC Santa Cruz 183-91, while the Tiger men defeated the Banana Slugs 205-82. Friday will be the first home-away meet for the programs in their history.

The Tigers geared up for this weekend with a few preliminary season tests. Both the men and women sent a couple of Tigers for the MPSF Open Water Championship last week for the inaugural conference event. The women also traveled to Cal State East Bay in late September for an early dual meet in what has become a defining season opener for the two programs.

Now Pacific will be put to the test as they take on UC Santa Cruz tomorrow afternoon. The Tigers are hosting a Pink Out in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, where fans are encouraged to wear pink and participate in the pink ribbon giveaway.

Follow along with them on their social accounts @pacific.swimming on Instagram and @uopswimanddive on X (formerly Twitter) for live updates. Admission is free to the event, so come out and support the Tigers tomorrow at 3 p.m.
